Beervana Road to Beervana

The Good George story so far…

If we told you that Good George was the best thing to come out of Hamilton, you’d probably think for a minute then make a joke about how we don’t have much competition. That’s okay, we can handle it, we don’t take life too seriously. We’re serious about brewing though.

Good George came to life after a bunch of friends got together and decided, after years in hospitality and brewing, it was time to create their own craft beer brand. Their main motivation was to show people what great beer can be, convert drinkers from the norm and show them how to enjoy fantastic beer.

Kiwi Sour 3.7% 11 IBU Sour We soured this beer overnight and fermented this beer with kiwifruit juice. The sour taste Is in perfect balance with the sweetness from the kiwifruit juice. Aromas of kiwifruit, straw from the lager base malt and grapes from Nelson Sauvin hops makes an highly refreshing combination.
Feijoa Cider 4.5% Cider If you’ve ever owned a feijoa tree you’ll know it’s a feast or a famine. For 11 months each year your tree does almost nothing, then one day in autumn it suddenly rains fruit and half of them end up either spoiling on the ground or, worse, getting shared with people in your office. Well not this year. We’ve used the best of our annual harvest in this incredible new cider. Sure, feijoas aren’t for everyone, but the rest of us are happy to drink your share.
Doris Cider 4.5% Cider All the GOODness of our popular cider married up with locally sourced Doris Plums. Hints of plum & fruit, with sweet and sour taste, makes this one dangerously refreshing.
