Three Wellington names walked into a brewery. They left with Mother of Pearl.
Heyday Brewery didn't just brew a hazy and hope it'd pair with seafood. They built this one around Tora Collective pāua from the start. Tropical hop character, a juicy mouthfeel, and enough backbone to stand up to briny, mineral pāua instead of getting bulldozed by it.
It's the beer equivalent of finding out your mate's actually a great cook.
Then there's the food: Pāua croquettes - crisp shell, tender centre, gone in two bites Pāua fritter sliders - the Kiwi classic, shrunk down into a mini burger that somehow makes it better, not worse.
Your $30 includes one Mother of Pearl hazy, one pāua croquette and one pāua fritter slider.
It's Tora Collective's pāua, Heyday's boldest hazy yet, and Thistle doing what we do best, bringing great local producers together for Road to Beervana.
