RUDI’S is more than just a name — it’s a tribute to a true Kiwi legend.

Back in the 1950s, New Zealand’s hop industry was on the brink, threatened by a devastating soil disease called Black Root Rot. But one man, Dr. Rudi Roborgh, wasn’t about to let our hops go down without a fight.  His pioneering work not only saved the industry but transformed it, earning him the title: The Godfather of NZ Hops.

We’re a Kiwi-owned brewery with a love for great beer and a deep respect for the roots that make it possible. Naming our beer RUDI’S is our way of honouring the man who gave us the hops — and the hope — to brew something truly special.
