5 Things to Expect at Beervana 2025
Tickets are on sale and August is drawing nearer, so it’s time to get your mates together and start planning your experience in Wellington on 22 + 23 August.
Alongside a line up of over 60 breweries pouring more than 300 different beers, here’s a sample paddle of what’s happening at this year's Beer Wonderland…
International breweries
In 2025 we’re super excited to be bringing a whole new trio of breweries from a brewing scene never before showcased on these soils.
Thanks to Singapore Airlines and the Embassy of the Republic of South Korea, our beery gaze is shifting towards South Korea with Seoul Brewery, 7Brau and (one more super secret for now) brewery making the trip to Wellington.
In addition, we’ll have a number of Australian breweries hopping across the ditch with four from the Sunshine Coast: Moffat Brewing, Brouhaha, Coolum Beer Co. and for the first time Terrella Brewing.
Last year’s Beervana International Invitational introduced three incredible German breweries to New Zealand (or re-introduced, in Schneider-Weisse’s case), and it was a highlight of the festival.
Welcome return
This year’s festival also celebrates the long-awaited return of some of the most legendary breweries from Aotearoa’s home shores. Emerson’s, Parrotdog, Sprig + Fern, Lakeman, Urbanaut and more are set to join the lineup for Beervana 2025.
The New Kids on the Block stand will again spotlight some brand new breweries, and our long-running industry partner Pink Boots Society are back with their stand of incredible beers donated by friends in the industry.
Incredible food offerings
Beervana is almost as famous for its food as for its beer, and this year is no exception. Alongside some old favourites (like Boulcott Street Bistro and Burger Liquor) and some more recent favourites from last year (Auckland’s 'Ansum Pastry Co., Little Polish Kiosk and The Polish Sausage Company) we’re upping the ante further with some incredible high end restaurants coming down to the concourse: Two Grey, One80 Restaurant and Caucus Restaurant. To complete the Korean takeover, our favourite “KFC”, Keihei Chicken are bringing their new truck to partner up with our Korean breweries for the full Chimaek experience.
More than just beer
It’s true that Beervana is a beer wonderland. Although, you don’t have to be a beer fan to have a good time. With the incredible non-beer options available, there’s something for any anti-beer-self-describer. This year’s festival welcomes multiple cocktail and cider exhibitors including The Alchemist and Southward Distilling as producers of the greatest cider in the nation, Peckhams. If you’re wanting a break from the drinks, that’s okay too — Beervana has plenty of good vibes to keep you occupied! With the wide array of entertainment, activities, and music, there’s always something to do.
There’s plenty to enjoy whether you’re a beer lover, or yet to be(er) converted. Who knows, maybe you just haven’t tried the right one yet...
Unusual entertainment
A new experience awaits around every twist and turn at Sky Stadium. Get your kanikani on at the Radio Hauraki silent disco, listen in as we record a podcast about New Zealand’s great beer scene, try your luck at winning prizes at Liquorland’s stand or unleash your inner kid at the bouncy castle. Perhaps you’ll find yourself lining up for a new tattoo? Otherwise you can just chill with a delicious brew and enjoy the tasty selection of live music.
