Beer and all that JAZZ!

Beervana may be over, but don't put away those dancing shoes just yet!!

The Wellington Jazz Festival is hitting town next month, and guess what? Some of the incredible jazz musicians who graced our Beervana stage (and many others who didn’t!) are ready to bring their  magic to beer venues all around Wellington.

Our Beervana Manager, Ryan, has put together a list of his top picks for this year's Wellington Jazz Festival. Spoiler alert! Each venue serves up delicious craft brews. 

RIO TRIO

Rio Trio had us groovin' and shakin' at Beervana this year. These three are local experts on samba, bossa nova, choro and more. Featuring Bryn van Vliet (sax/flute), Felicien Houet (guitar) and  Taciano Milfont (percussion). Sunday 29 October 6pm at El Barrio

LTM ELECTRIC

Pianist and vocalist Louis Thompson-Munn stormed his keys at Beervana this year. His electric trio explores luscious grooves and stretches out with some heavy hitting players along with featured vocalist Miriam Alice. Friday 27 October 8pm - Koha Entry at cult beer bar Hashigo Zake

ROGUE CLASSIC ALBUMS LIVE | SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT

Double bassist Seth Boy presents the original motion picture soundtrack to She's Gotta Have It, a beautiful and groundbreaking film about sexual liberation and self-determination written and directed by the legendary Spike Lee, (his first feature film) with an original jazz soundtrack by his father, bassist Bill Lee. Sunday 29 October 4pm at craft beer bar, The Rogue & Vagabond

HANNAH GOODIN QUINTET: COLOURING OUTSIDE THE LINES

The Hannah Goodin Quintet will take you on a journey, filled to the brim with pieces that will have your fingers snapping and toes tapping. And while you do, maybe there’ll be a few… that colour outside the lines of jazz. Sunday 29 October 3pm at Wellington brewery, Whistling Sisters
