Clay Grant, Founder and Owner of One Drop Brewing Co., Sydney, Australia

YOU.

Kia Ora, I’m Clay Grant, Founder and Owner of One Drop Brewing Co. based in Sydney Australia. I grew up in small-town Masterton which is in the rural region of the mighty Wairarapa. Ngati Kahungunu. I made the shift across the ditch in 2005 - the year known fondly as the year of the Tiger, when fellow kiwi Benji Marshall re-invented how to play rugby league! Growing up amongst a large extended family, every weekend was always a party of sorts at someone's house. I fell in love with the social get-togethers over a couple of beers, a kai and some good sounds, so it’s only natural I’ve ended up bringing that to my local community here in Botany in the shape of a brewery. What was then, has now morphed into being a part of a great team here at One Drop Brewing Co that provides boundary pushing experiences while also being part of a very collaborative industry.

DRINK.

I always have way too many beers in the fridge at home with intentions to go through them but never do. As of late I have really enjoyed our FADED DIPA which just tastes real yum and has been a work in the making for a good 12 months to get it to where we are all happy. Kudos to the our brew crew that have nailed it!

To finish, it’s a mezcal margarita - also yum.

THIS.

A couple of things - one being finding new music. I will listen to Spotify for hours at night, trawling through tracks to add to my account. And fuggen handstands - I have been learning how to handstand for ages and still can’t hold one consistently for more than 5 seconds!

Matt McIver – Co-founder of Range Brewing

Matt McIver, Range Brewing's Co-founder, Brisbane, Australia

YOU.

What's up, my name's Matt McIver and I'm one of the co-founders of Range Brewing. We're a Brisbane-based brewery that makes a rotating lineup of styles. We focus predominantly on hop-heavy beers with IPA, Double IPA, and Oat Cream IPA being our most sought-after styles.

I got into the beer industry properly after a decent stint working in bars in my early twenties. After living in London and working for a major craft beer festival there, my business partner Gerry and I decided to move home to Brisbane and get Range going.

DRINK.

I recently got back from a work trip to the UK so my fridge is full of DEYA, Track and Verdant beers. I'm loving the lower ABV pales from the UK and some of the big DIPA's.

THIS.

Ice Hockey. I am totally addicted to it. I play in a local league in Brisbane every Sunday night and am an insane Boston Bruins fan in the NHL. I love the physicality of it but also the crazy amount of skill it requires to be able to skate that fast and handle the puck at the same time. It's also just so exciting to watch!

DJ, Mountain Culture's co-founder & head brewer

YOU.

Hi, I'm DJ, I like long walks along the beach and strong Negronis. I'm the co-founder/head brewer of Mountain Culture. I'm originally from Asheville, North Carolina which is where I started brewing about 15 years ago. I worked in a few craft breweries over there including Oskar Blues before coming to Australia.

I started Mountain Culture Beer Co. in Katoomba with my wife and co-founder Harriet McCready with the aim of making the highest quality beer, in between exploring the beautiful Blue Mountains.

DRINK.

Czech Pilsners and Negroni's.

THIS.

Not falling off my dirt and/or mountain bikes.
