Matt Wilson, Moffat Beach Brewing Co.
My name is Matt Wilson and I am the Head Brewer and co-founder of Moffat Beach Brewing Co. We are a Sunshine Coast based brewery that has a brewpub overlooking the beach with killer views and we also have a larger production facility on the other side of town. We predominantly make hop forward beers but if you pop into either of our venues we always have a wide array of beer styles flowing from our taps.
Pale Ales, IPAs, Hazies and red wine.
Travel, live music, and I am obsessed with skiing. Living at the beach we always try to go somewhere cold for our holidays.
Steve Barber, Blackflag Brewing
The typical story of going from construction and mining, to bars and breweries. I opened and operated five bars in Queensland before starting Blackflag the day COVID came knocking.
If it’s in the way, I’ll make sure it’s been tasted. Coffee in the morning, water till noon, beers till the night.
I wouldn’t say obsessed, but I spend far too much time on YouTube! That, and cleaning up after my pup’s sh!tshow of dragging mud through the house.
Toby Alcorn, Brouhaha
I’m Toby Alcorn, head brewer at Brouhaha Brewery on the sunny coast. I’m originally from the country in South Australia. I’ve done nearly all the jobs under the sun from aluminium extrusion, feed mill production work, to refrigeration and air conditioning. I love the ‘beer game’ and all the people in it, and have managed to carve a nook for myself into it over the past eight years.
Love all kinds of beers, and move from Pales and hoppy IPAs, to clean well built Lagers. I also love a big bold Barossa Shiraz.
Work….hahaha. I enjoy a quiet fish on the kayak, and the rush on a dirt bike out in the hinterland.
